Cavedweller - Matt Cameron (2017)

Let's start by saying that if you are one of those who need an explanation, about who is Matthew David Cameron, known as Matt, you've probably lost some of the most beautiful rock music in the last 30 years. No one knew what to expect, from a solo album from the drummer of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Hater and Wellwater Conspiracy, but I must say that Matt was very clever and able to do what he had in mind, looking for something he had not done till now. Recruited Mark Giuliana on drums and Tim Lefebvre on the bass (two members of the Bowie's backing band for Blackstar), two great musicians, Cameron has picked up written material for many years, he took up the guitar, put himself behind the microphone, and even produced the disc.
What comes out of it is definitely not an epochal disc, but certainly the demonstration of the innumerable abilities of a musician to whom we must have the utmost respect. Cameron plays the guitar well, both in acoustic and electric mode, he is surprisingly good at voice, and produces an excellent mixing rock, of course, in addition to progressive and blues, and confirms the ability of uncommon songwriter (songs composed by Cameron, who has followed him forever knows, are complex and hard at the same time, with few concessions to pop, but with a certain melodic taste, though twisted).
It is likely that if he would decides to give up all his commitments and dedicate himself solely to his solo career, he would leave us all astonished: listen to "All at Once" to believe.
