Arrivo tardi, a questi Bring Me the Horizon (da un dialogo di Jack Sparrow in Pirati dei Caraibi - La maledizione della prima luna), band di Sheffield, UK. Questo disco del 2015, ultimo, per il momento, in studio, è il loro quinto, mentre loro sono assieme ormai da 13 anni. Iniziano con delle fortissime influenze metalcore, quasi alla Dillinger Escape Plan, mentre si ammorbidiscono pian piano, fino a suonare, adesso, un po' come i Linkin' Park inglesi. Eppure, il disco mi ha preso, e mi sono andato a riascoltare tutta la loro discografia a ritroso. Sono duri quando serve, si sente che hanno un gran gusto melodico ma che si divertono pure quando c'è da premere sull'acceleratore, sono giovani ma sono ottimi musicisti. Le tastiere danno al tutto un retrogusto drammatico, il cantante, Oliver Sykes, è un bel personaggio da rotocalchi, anche rosa. Insomma: non cambieranno la storia della musica, ma ci piacciono.

This record of 2015, last, for the moment, from the studio, is their fifth, while they have been together for 13 years. They start with very strong metalcore influences, almost like the Dillinger Escape Plan, while they soften slowly, until they play, now, a bit like the British Linkin' Park. Still, the record got me, and I went to listen to all their backward discography. They are hard when needed, you can heard that they have a great melodic taste but that they have fun even when they have to press on the accelerator, they are young but they are excellent musicians. The keyboards give the whole a dramatic aftertaste, the singer, Oliver Sykes, is a beautiful character from magazines, even the pink ones. In short: they will not change the history of music, but we like them.
