Secondo disco per il giovane cantautore australiano Vance Joy, ex promessa del football australiano. Indie folk è probabilmente l'etichetta giusta, bella voce, delicata e alta, una buona vena nello scrivere canzoni vagamente struggenti che hanno come ispirazione principale storie d'amore; su questo disco scrive tutto lui, diversamente rispetto al suo disco di debutto, dove era uno dei produttori, Ryan Hadlock, che la faceva da padrone. Lascerei però stare i paragoni con Jeff Buckley che qualcuno ha tirato fuori dopo il successo planetario del suo singolo del 2013 Riptide, poi incluso nel già citato debutto Dream Your Life Away. Piacevole, ma con tanta strada da fare.
Second album for the young Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy, former promising Australian football player. Indie folk is probably the right label, beautiful voice, delicate and high, a good vein in songwriting, vaguely poignant songs that have as main inspiration love stories; on this record he writes everything, unlike his debut album, where he was one of the producers, Ryan Hadlock, who was the master. But I would leave the comparison with Jeff Buckley that someone pulled out after the global success of his 2013 single Riptide, then included in the aforementioned debut Dream Your Life Away. Pleasant, but with a long way to go.
